Chris Welsch Holy shit. Saw this band live in Athens couple weeks ago at Shadebeast showcase. Fuck. See these folks live! This old man loved it. Nice folks after show. Watch this band! Favorite track: doomed to grow (feat. money nicca) (cocojoey's shadow of the secret garden mix).

about

'Slow Murder' came out on October 14th, 2022 via Graveface Records. Since then, it has been a whirlwind of new experiences, new people, and new places. We wanted to take the time to revisit some of these songs and have new life breathed into them in the form of remixes with friends of ours, both old and new, to celebrate the one year anniversary.
Big Money Cybergrind was the only label in mind for something like this, and we are so grateful for everything they've done for us so far.

Each member of THGTC had a little something to say about the past year.

AARON:
We had a blast recording Slow Murder with Scary at Hidden Audio here in Savannah, Georgia, and also having David Perez there documenting the entire process with his camera made it all the more fun. We had only just met David, but that weekend we formed a bond with each other that I personally will cherish for the rest of my life. Seeing our efforts released on multiple platforms was fulfilling in and of itself, but being able to play these songs in front of people all across the nation (and seeing people react/sing along with us) is literally seeing a dream I've had since I started playing music as a child come true.

It's been a shit year for me personally, but being able to play these songs in front of people has brought me great joy and I'm very thankful for the new friends we've made along the way. We're all very proud of what we accomplished with the record and can't wait to share it with new people in new places. Stop Cop City.

NAT:
Over the last year since 'Slow Murder' came out, it’s been a pretty incredible pedal to the metal time for all of us. We made the jump from a small band who occasionally got around the southeast to covering half the US since. By the end of this year, we’ll have traversed almost the entire US over the course of five tours.

We’ve had some unbelievable times, some huge shows, and have connected with artists and people who we are beyond grateful to call friends now. It’s been tumultuous at times, and we’ve lost some good friends along the way, but it feels good to know that we’re up and out saying stuff that people appreciate and need to hear. I’m incredibly appreciative to all these artists who came together to make a silly idea for a metal record to get remixed and become a reality, and I’m glad that stuff we’re writing is important enough to them to want to do it.

SLEVE:
‘Slow Murder’ wasn’t even supposed to be an album. We had spent a lot of time writing the songs over the course of the pandemic with the intention to release them in different capacities. None of those plans panned out and we were left with a batch of songs that we wanted to do something with. Beyond that, we really didn’t have any clear path as to how to do that. Through a collective effort on the part of no less than 10 people, we were able to put together a record that I am very proud of and grateful for the opportunities that it has brought our little band from Savannah, Georgia.

I’ve taken quite some time to put out my first true full-length record. I wanted to make sure that I was part of releasing an LP that had a well-thought-out plan and was a statement that was representative of all of the work that my comrades and I had put in throughout our musical lives.
I was worried that when we made such a quick decision to turn these songs into a record and release them together that that was not going to be the case. Looking back a year later, I can gladly say that I was wrong and that I couldn’t be more happy that this is the first full album that I was lucky enough to have a hand in.

TANNER:
Putting out an album is hard. You ask yourself ‘Will this matter?’ ‘Will people receive this well?’ as well as all the other self doubt that comes with trying to put any sort of creative endeavor into the public eye. And this is only after you actually take the time to construct the thing. So the fact that anyone has listened to it, let alone found something they resonated with. is very gratifying and humbling. I’m very lucky to be a part of something bigger than myself, let alone how lucky I am to be playing with the people in this band. We’ve done some some pretty incredible stuff this year and we’re beating milestone after milestone together. I’m itching to see how the west coast looks!
